DIMAPUR, June 25: Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organized a legal awareness programme in collaboration with Sisterhood Network at Diezephe village on June 22.
Summing up the programme, Neiko Kanuo, District and Sessions Judge and Chairman DDLSA highlighted about the legal aid services, and those who are entitled to get free legal aid. He also explained on how to lodge FIR when you are in danger. “We are born free and all are equal, we have right to live, law protect us which is written in our Indian constitution” he said.
The chairman also briefly emphasized on domestic violence and to know the rights and protection of women.
Speaking on protection of women from domestic violence, Visheli stressed on women rights and also highlighted the definition of violence such as physical, emotional, economic and sexual abuse. She also explained on how to file maintenance U/s 125 CrPC.
