DIMAPUR, October 13: The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) conducted a legal awareness programe at Pranabananda Women’s college, Dimapur on October 4.
Summing up the programme, Y Longkumer, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairperson DDLSA highlighted some of the basic legal rights.
Pointing out that legal knowledge is for everyone, she said that everyone should be aware of basic legal rights for safety.
Longkumer she also highlighted the rights of the consumers & how to file a consumer case if ones right is infringed and the limitation period of filing so.
She also said that Domestic violence is a civil law for an emergency purpose, to gain relief, protection, restraining order as well as monetary relief.
Tongpok, Panel Lawyer DDLSA spoke on ‘Cyber crime ‘, Sentimentla Panel Lawyer DDLSA spoke on ‘Basic Legal Rights, Zuchumpeni, Panel Lawyer DDLSA spoke on ‘ Domestic violence and Dzuvi Panel Lawyer spoke on ‘Consumer Rights’.
The program was chaired by Nishela Panel Lawyer DDLSA and welcome address was delivered by the Principal, Pranabananda women’s college. 370 students, teachers and staff attended the awareness programme. (Page News Service)
