DDADU office bearers allege misappropriation of funds


Dimapur, June 18: Sixteen office bearers of Dimapur District Autoriskshaw Drivers Union (DDADU) have alleged misappropriation of welfare fund by the present president and some of the members.
In a representation to Assistant Labour Commissioner, DDADU vice president, Tito Yepthomi and general secretary, Inito Shohe besides 14 others stated that the Union collects Rs 10 from auto drivers which totals to approximately Rs 15000 monthly from the members as funds for the welfare of the Union.
They stated that for the past three years the collected amount/fund has been misappropriated allegedly by the present president and some of the members.
They further stated when they called upon the present president to produce the Audit Report for the sake of accountability, he terminated the vice president and suspended the other office bearers unreasonably and unconstitutionally.
They also alleged that an ambulance which was purchased by the Union was sold by the present president without any consultation with the office bearers and members.
The DDADU office bearers urged the Assistant Labour Commissioner to stop all forms of collection in the name of DDADU and also pass necessary orders/directives for the retention of all the office bearers and members in their respective posts till the expiry of their tenure and due election is conducted as per the bylaw/constitution of the Union.
