DCs informed to organize essay competition

Dimapur, September 7: Commissioner & Secretary to Governor, T Mhabemo Yanthan IAS has informed all the Deputy Commissioners to organize an essay competition for the students of Nagaland on the topic “Relevance of Gandhiji’s thoughts for building a peaceful and prosperous Nagaland”. Students of High School and Higher Secondary School are eligible to participate in this competition and the length of the essay should be 2000 words (approx); Students must submit their essays though email to their respective DCs and selection of winners will be done district wise.

The first prize in each district will carry an award of Rs. 25000 with certificate and 2nd Prize winner will receive Rs. 15000 with certificate from the Governor.
The Commissioner & Secretary further stated that Deputy Commissioners will take necessary steps immediately for wide publicity so as to reach to all the interested students in their respective district. The DCs will constitute a committee under his chairmanship to evaluate/scrutinize the essays submitted by the students and declare the winners. The winners will be felicitated on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday celebration at Raj Bhavan on October 2. Information for this purpose shall be communicated to all the participants.
The schools of the students will determine the district he/she represents. Deputy Commissioners will frame the last date for submission and will provide a platform/email where students should send their essays.
The DCs have been asked to ensure that the details of 1st and 2nd prize winners of each district including contact number should reach Raj Bhavan latest by Monday, September 27 positively. (Page News Service)
