DCCI urges transporters to call off shutter-down agitation

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 27: Dimapur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) has urged Dimapur-based transporters to call off their shutter-down agitation following an assurance from the district and police administration that the armed miscreants responsible for recent incidents of threat/life attempt on transporters and other businessmen would be apprehended and book soon, besides to facilitate smooth shopping during the restive season.
The DCCI held a joint meeting with Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal and Commissioner of Police RothihuTetseo on September 23 last and discussed the ongoing indefinite closure of offices of Dimapur transporters since September 16, which has affected normal business activities in the commercial hub besides causing immense hardships and loss to the business community and inconvenience to the general public.
In the meeting, both the Deputy Commissioner and the Commissioner of Police assured the DCCI members that the armed miscreants responsible for recent indents of threat/life attempt on transporters and other businessmen would be apprehended and booked soon.
The DC and CP also requested DCCI to prevail upon the Dimapur-based transporters to call of their shutter-down agitation, taking into consideration the oncoming festive season.
