DC Wokha holds Dist Skill Committee meeting; discusses future plan

Dimapur, January 21: District Skill Committee meeting was held on January 20 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha along with Additional Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Lankonsen Tsanglao in DC’s Conference Hall to discuss the skill development plan and to evaluate the skill gaps and to deliberate upon the road map for meeting the skill requirements of the district.
Principle Government ITI, Enchi Longkumer, Public Relation Officer (Assam Rifles), Anand Kumar, Programme Coordinator Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. H. Moa Akum, DIC General Manager, Nchumbemo Patton, District Agriculture Officer, R Santsu Kithan, Team Metamorphosis represented by Thungchibemo Humtsoe, Charity Club Multipurpose Society Chairperson, Mhalo Ezung, Wokha District Village Council Chairman Association President, K Vandan Erui, ADPM NSRLM, Samuel Kithan, DPA NECTAR, Chumben, EAC Wokha Yentinonglau, Wokha District Entrepreneurship Association President, William Kikon, Gentle Hills President, Thunglamo Odyuo and representatives from ATMA, Fishery Department, Horticulture, Renchen Women Welfare Society and other members were present during the meeting.
A detailed presentation regarding District Skill Committee was given by Anuranjan Singh, Fellow from Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India.
In the meeting the Deputy Commissioner Wokha directed each department to immediately submit a report on the ongoing activities. He emphasized the need to capacitate more people with the skill of varied trades and directed for giving wide publicity to the programme.
He also asked the concerned departments to formulate their plans for District Skill Development Plans (DSDP) for the next 2 years. (Page News Service)
