DC Tuensang informs public not to believe in rumours

Dimapur, March 30: In pursuance of advisory issued by the Government of Nagaland, Home Department, NSDMA, and in the wake of the orders under the Disaster Management Act 2005 to contain the COVID – 19 pandemic, Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS has informed to all concerned that false information and rumours should not be believed or circulated via social media. The authenticity of all such information should be verified through reliable /official sources.
He has asked public not to resort to panic buying /hoarding as sufficient stock of essential items are available and will be maintained within the District.
He requested the public to practice hand and respiratory hygiene at all times at home, at workplace and all public places.
Public have been requested to follow the instructions as per the IEC pamphlets which is made available in the local dialects within the District.

DC Tuensang also informed that in order to take measures for the smooth functioning and delivery of services during the 21 days lockdown period to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Department of Posts have come forward to offer their various services to deliver parcels of dry rations/other essential commodities/cash at the door-steps of individual beneficiaries.
In this regard, a single window to provide postal services for the mentioned delivery of services will be operational in the District. All necessary support should be extended to the Postal Officials for the smooth functioning in carrying out their duties, he added. (Page News Service)
