DC Mokokchung cracks whip on vigilantism


Dimapur, March 28: With various organizations/villages/ wards/ colonies building barriers to restrict entry of people and vehicles into their village/ wards/ colony etc across Nagaland thereby creating unwanted situation and hampering delivery of essential commodities, the Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir has ordered that no individual/ group of individuals/ NGOs other than the authorized Government agencies is permitted from erecting any kinds of check gates or man them with immediate effect.
In an order issued today, the DC notified that no individual or groups of individuals is permitted to resort to any kind of surprise vehicular checking; resort to vehicular blockade at the National/State Highways passing through Mokokchung District and any other activity which disrupts delivery of essential goods/services throughout Nagaland and any other States in India.
The DC warned that any person/group acting in violation of the order shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. (Page News Service)
