Dimapur, November 18: In continuation to the earlier notification pertaining to the protection of Amur Falcon, Deputy Commissioner, Longleng has notified all the concerned that Amur Falcon is protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, trapping killing and selling of Amur Falcon is a criminal offence punishable with 3(three) years rigorous imprisonment or with fine of Rs. 25000 or both under section 51 of the said Act.
In this connection, the DC Longleng has directed the village council chairmen and ward president to take up the matter on top priority and give strict instruction within their concerned jurisdiction.
In another notification the DC has stated that in pursuance of the Chief Secretary, Government of Nagaland vide No. GAB-I/COM/GEN-4,2020 Dated Kohima the 12th Nov. 2020 and in continuation to all earlier orders issued with regard to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) to be followed to contain and control the spread of Corona Virus (Covid-19),the following actions shall be taken by the enforcement agencies for violation of SOPs and guidelines issued from time to time.
