DC Kohima notify Police, Transport Depts

Dimapur, March 2: DC and chairman DLCC Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has directed the Department of Police and Transport to comply with the provision of COTPA by installing prohibition signage and warning messages in all public places under their jurisdiction.
The minimum size for the sign board should be 60cm x 30cm (3 x 2ft) with white background.
In a notification, the DC said despite total ban on smoking in all public places including police stations, public transport, prisons and jails for public health safety, indiscriminate smoking takes place in all police stations and various means of public conveyance which is a clear violation of the Act.
