DC Dimapur urged to expedite approval of army-occupied land survey map

Nagaland News

Dimapur, April 19: The forum of “Landowners Pattadars” in Dimapur has asked the Deputy Commissioner (DC) to expedite the approval of the joint survey map conducted by the Board of Proceedings in connection with army-occupied land in Dimapur town area.

In a representation submitted to the DC, the forum expressed dismay that the Board of Proceedings has yet to approve said joint survey map.
“It is pertinent to mention herein that the composition of the Board of Proceedings for joint survey of army-occupied land in town area, Dimapur has been necessitated and achieved after decades of tireless efforts, official communications, meetings, representations and initiations by the Landowners Pattadars on one hand as well as the intervention of the Nagaland State Government and the army authority through its Defence Estates Officer, Jorhat on the other hand. It must be mentioned here that this forum of land pattadars has been fighting for their lands for decades,” it read.
The forum requested the DC to convene a meeting of the Board of Proceedings and take necessary steps to expedite the protracted matter at the earliest.
