DC Dimapur highlights benefits of KCC


Dimapur, March 6: Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi today said that the Government is giving Kisan Credit Cards to the beneficiary farmers, who can avail a loan upto Rs 1.6 lakhs without any collateral.
Interacting with media persons, the DC said that the beneficiaries have to fill up a simple form, give land documents and details of the crops they have sold and register with the banks. He said the banks have to sanction the loan within 14 days.
Stating that this scheme can benefit farmers to cultivate crops during the season, the DC said all banks should organize special camps and create awareness.
Now, the KCC beneficiaries can also avail loans for animal husbandry and fisheries.
According to AGM, NABARD, H C Biswas all farm loans carry an interest of 7%. He said the loans have to be repaid within 12 months, adding if the farmer repay the loan with the due date, he/she gets 3% rebate. He also mentioned that the farmers also have the benefit of crop insurance.
However, he said PM Fasal Bima Yojana has not been implemented in Nagaland.
He further informed that under PM Kisan Sanman Yojana, the Government provides Rs 6000 annually to the farmer, which has transferred to their account in three installments.
It may be mentioned that in Dimapur, there are 16,329 farmers out of which 14,183 are eligible for Kisan Credit Cards. In the entire state, there are 197000 farmers whereas 34226 are KCC holders.
The officials appealed to all the farmers to repay loans timely to avail more benefits.
