Dimapur, March 31: DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi has directed all employers, be it in the industry or in shops and commercial establishments, to make payment of wages of their workers at their work places on the due date without any deduction for the period their establishments are under closure during the lockdown.
This is in pursuance of the State Home Department, Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority letter to this effect.
The DC also ordered that no landlords should demand payment of rent for a period of one month from workers, including migrants, living in rented accommodation.
If any landlord is forcing labourers and students to vacate their premises, they will be liable for action, the DC’s order said.
Any person violating this order will be liable to be proceeded against as per the Disaster Management Act 2005, besides legal action under IPC. (Page News Service)
