Dimapur, April 12: Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, DLCC Dimapur has appealed to all Government departments, PSUs, Banks, Hotels and restaurants in Dimapur district to comply with the provisions of Section-4 of Cigarettes and other Tobacco Products Acts 2003 which bans smoking in public places.
He also requested to display the mandatory no smoking board “This is a public place, smoking here is an offence” in their office and business premises, restaurants with 30 seats and above and hotels with 30 rooms and above to provide separate smoking room for customers under this section.
He said the objective is to protect non-smokers from second hand smoke and also to make the working places healthier. This would also strengthen the ongoing smoke free Dimapur campaign launched by tobacco free institutions in Dimapur, he added. (Page News Service)
