DC Dimapur analyses poor results of Govt schools

Dimapur, May 17: Concerned about the poor performance of Government schools in Dimapur in the recently declared HSLC and HSSLC examinations as compared to the private institutions, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol conducted a meeting of all the principals, headmasters/headmistress of Government schools under Dimapur district for result analysis on May 17 in the DEO’s office Dimapur.
In the meeting, DC Dimapur complimented the few schools who fared well and impressed upon the poor performing schools to pull up their socks and do their homework properly in the coming years. Reminding that the best paid Government employees are the teachers, Kevin urged them to perform their duties with missionary commitment as it concerns the future of the younger generation.
He further reminded them that they are the fortunate ones to be posted at Dimapur and cautioned them not to take things for granted but to deliver justice in their assigned tasks. Kevin also asked them to follow the protocols and procedures of government set up while discharging their official works.
All the Government institutional heads under Dimapur district presented report of their school’s performance. Some of them highlighted on the problems faced by the schools like poor infrastructure, inadequate classrooms, shortage of manpower and rampant up-gradation of schools without proper assessment of existing infrastructures.
The DC directed them to give the complaints in written through the DEO and assured them to look into the genuine issues raised.
DEO Dimapur, Amongla also encouraged the gathering to be self-disciplined in order to get better results. She thanked the DC for showing his concern for the welfare of the student community. (Page News Service)
