Dimapur, March 18: Deputy Commissioner & DEO, Phek, Sachin Jaiswal, IAS has informed that for the upcoming General Election to the House of the People, 2019 and General Election and Bye-Elections to the State Legislative Assembly to be held simultaneously, all electors who have been issued Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) have to produce the EPIC for their identification at the polling Station before casting their votes. Those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC shall produce one of the following alternatives photo identity documents for establishing their identity: Passport; Driving License; Service Identity Cards with photograph issued to employees by Central/State Govt./PSUs/Public Limited Companies; Passbook with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office; PAN Card; Smart Card issued by RGI under NPR; MNREGA Job Card; Health Insurance Smart Card issued under the Scheme of Ministry of Labour; Pension documents with photograph; Official Identity Cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs; and Aadhaar Card.
The DC further informed that the Photo Voter slip would not be accepted as a stand-alone identification documents for voting although-it will continue to be prepared and issued to electors as part of the awareness building exercise.
DC Mon informs
Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS in a public notice stated that for the upcoming General Elections and Bye-Election to the State Legislative Assembly to be held simultaneously, all electors under Mon District who have been issued Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) have to produce the EPIC for their identification at the polling stations before casting their votes.
Those electors who do not possess the EPIC, shall produce one of the following alternative photo Identity Cards for the establishment their identity:- Indian Passport, Driving Licence, Service Identity Cards with photographs issued to the employees by Central/State Govt. PSUs/Public Limited Companies, Passport with photograph issued by Bank/Post Office, Pan Card, Smart Card issued RGI under NPR, MGREGA Job Card, Health insurance under the schemes of Minister of Labour, Pension documents with photograph, Office Identity Card issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs and Aadhaar Card, He added.
