Dimapur, July 8: The Dimapur Bengali Students’ Union (DBSU) has condemned the incident at Lawsohtun, Shillong, Meghalaya on July 3 in which 5 youths belonging to the Bengali community were brutally assaulted by a group of 20 miscreants.
According to the police, the five boys had come to play basketball at Lawsohtun block VI which they had been coming for the last two weeks when the miscreants appeared and assaulted them with iron rods, sticks, and bamboos.
The union appealed to Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma and Government of Meghalaya to take stringent actions against those involved in this brutality.
The union also appealed to everyone in this time of medical emergency to stay united and fight against our common enemy instead of against each other. (Page News Service)
