Dimapur, February 23: The Dimapur Ao Youth Organization (DAYO) has supported and appreciated the demand made by the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) to the Commissioner of Excise, Government of Nagaland Dimapur to close down all liquor outlets within 7 days.
The DAYO also appreciated and supported the Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) appeal made to all GBs, Chairmen and Colony Councils to penalize landlords and house owners in whose properties liquor outlets are operated.
While acknowledging the initiatives of the DNSU and CNTC, the DAYO also pledged to extend full co-operation in this social concern till the end.
Meanwhile, with reference to the Ultimatum issued by NSF vide No. NSF/Ult-02/2-19-21 date 22.02.20, the DAYO while expressing appreciation to the Naga Students Federation for their concern and voicing out against “rampant practice of Backdoor appointments in all Government Departments”, the DAYO expressed shock that communities/Organizations outside the administrative jurisdiction of Nagaland Government are also signatories to the Ultimatum.
The Ultimatum served to the Chair of the Chief Minister of Nagaland by outsiders is ridiculous and uncalled for, it stated.
The DAYO said the issue of backdoor appointment is purely an administrative issue within the state of Nagaland and therefore it is not necessary that Organizations outside Nagaland has to be a signatory to the Ultimatum. Let any issues and grievances be resolved and decided by the stakeholders, it said.
