Dimapur, March 7: District Management Unit (DMMU) DAY-NSRLM conducted a 2-day block level training of community service providers potato farming and piggery breeding unit under National Rural Livelihood Mission at Chuchuyimlang block on March 5&6. More than 60 participants attended the training.
The resource persons for improved organic potato farming at Longkong village and Yongyimti village under Chuchuyimlang Block were Takalemba Jamir (DFS, NSRLM), Imsuakum Pongen (Area co-ordinator livelihoods) and Temsurenla Kichu (Area co-ordinator livelihoods) from NSRLM.
Guest of honour for piggery breeding unit at Mongsenyimti village was Taliyanger (Project Officer DRDA Mokokchung). Overview of piggery breeding unit was delivered by Takalemba, DFS, NSRLM Mokokchung.
The programme was conducted by DAY-NSRLM Mokokchung as part of the DAY-NSLRM’s annual action plan for the FY-2020-2021.
The programme was initiated to promote improved organic potato farming and improve piggery breeding practice that increase woman farmer’s income and reduce their input cost, risk and drudgery. (Page News Service)
