Day-2 of Tsungkam neo mini hornbill festival


Dimapur, January 17: The day-2 of Tsungkam Neo cum Mini Hornbill started with marathon from Thyiang village to Mundün Heritage village. The festival marathon was flagged-off by SP Tuensang, Bharat Laxman Markod IPS.
In the second session Neiba Kronu, Minister Planning & Co-Ordination & Land Revenue was the special guest. He congratulated the YTC and Yimchungrü people for bringing fast development in the newly established Mundün Heritage village which has great potential of attracting tourists as the heritage side has beautiful landscapes. He urged the gathering not to forget the hardworking qualities of our forefathers and suggested coffee plantation which will generate income.
Advisor, Water Resources Development, Namri Nchang, President ENPO, Kekongchim, DC Kiphire, Sarita Yadav IAS, President CKS, Nungsanglemba Chang also spoke on the occasion.
The 3rd session began with traditional tug-of-war in which Lungtoker village was declared as champion and Chessore village and Kuthur village came 2nd & 3rd respectively. In the traditional crossbow competition Bedang village under Pungro subdivision won the competition and Kuthur and Mudengkhung got 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. (Page News Service)
