CYO, CUA condemn

Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, JUNE 23: A 15-year-old minor girl was sexually-molested above Tapi River around 4 KMs away from Aboi Town, Mon District, on Sunday.

In her complaint given to the Local Organization, the victim has named 6 people as accused who were involved in the incident. Later the case was handed over to the police by the victim’s parents.
In this connection, the Chaoha Youth Organization (CYO), Chaoha Citizens’ Union and Chaoha Union Aboi have condemned the barbaric act of the 6 individuals and appealed to the law-enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the culprits by levying them with non-bailable sentence.
Terming the act as heinous and inhumane, the CYO, CCU & CUA also called for immediate action against the perpetrators and to address violence against women across the State.
“Further the CYO, CCU & CUA shall no longer condone such inhuman crime committed upon its fellow sister and shall resort to its own course of action in the event of justice not being delivered to the victim”, a press release issued by the organization stated.

They appealed to the concerned authority to investigate into the matter and ensure that the accused are brought to book under the stringent penal provisions and secure the severest punishment to deter such offence in the future.
