CYF condemns

Dimapur, December 4: The Chahesang Youth Front has strongly condemned what it alleged were miscreants belonging to Tungjoy village under Senapati District, Manipur who on November 28 trespassed into Khezhakeno village, Phek District jurisdiction at Chida Valley and torched down 10 thatched houses meant for tourists for the People’s Festival, which is a part of Hornbill Festival.
“This provocative attack of burning houses within the ancestral territorial jurisdiction of a bonafide village member of Chakhesang community is been viewed with utmost seriousness and tantamount to direct challenge to the life and property of the Chakhesang community,” said CYF president Lhuvesayi Lohe and general secretary Medovelo Sono in a press release.
Warning that the CYF “know how to defend ourselves and that our patience and civility should not taken for granted and interpreted as been weak,” the CYF asked Tungjoy village to hand over the culprits involved, while also warning that any future provocations and misadventures on their part will be met with full force and befitting reply will be made.
