Cybercrime: Dimapur police  arrests 2 from Rajasthan

Dimapur, June 9: Dimapur police has cracked a cyber crime case related to frauds through online shopping and arrested at least two persons involved in the case.
According to sources the cyber crime was reported by a woman, who was duped of over Rs 70,000 when she tried to buy an iPhone from OLX couple of months back.
Sources said that when she ordered the said phone from the website, she was asked to transfer a sum of Rs 8000 to the seller and when it was done, she received a call that the ordered iPhone has reached City Tower, Dimapur and she has to transfer Rs 11,200 of which Rs 200 was courier charges.
Even though the lady paid the sum, she was informed that due to technical reasons the transactions could not be done, so she has to transfer the amount again. This went on for quite some time and finally the lady realized that she has been duped when she called up the seller.
She lodged a complaint with Dimapur police, which took up the case with all seriousness under the supervision of an IPS officer and tracked the fraudsters to Rajasthan. The police also found that there are several complaints registered in Rajasthan also.
A team of Dimapur police led by an IPS officer reached Rajasthan and arrested two persons involved in the fraud. The accused have been brought to Dimapur. Further details are awaited.
