Kohima, July 10: As the tally of novel coronavirus positive crosses 700, the State Government has decided to extend lockdown till July 31 in the present form.
Government source said lockdown in its present form has been extended till July 31. But there will be no total lockdown of Kohima city as suggested by the Kohima district administration.
“We have decided not to impose total lockdown,” a Government source said. However, authorities and frontline workers will strictly implement the containment protocols.
After detection of three COVID-19 positive persons , authorities have sealed Daklane and Keziekie colonies in Kohima city as well as an area in Jotsoma as containment zones.
The Deputy Commissioner Kohima has suggested Government for seven days total lockdown of Kohima to break the chain of transmission. But the State Government thinks strict implementation of containment protocols will prevent further transmission.
