Cultural extravaganza marks 7th day of Hornbill Festival

Dimapur, December 7: The morning session of the cultural extravaganza on Day-7 of the Hornbill festival was organized by the Department of Art & Culture with Lt. Gen. RP Kalita, GOC in Chief, Eastern Command as the chief guest at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 7.
Advisor, Food & Civil Supplies, Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection, K. Tokugha Sukhalu was the Host while Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, A. Pangjung Jamir and MLA, Naiba Konyak as Co-hosts. Baüloi Vomshak from Phom Tribe invoked traditional blessing.
Different cultural troupes from various tribes of Nagaland participated in the cultural programme with their songs and dances. The cultural troupes included; Pochury Cultural troupe, Kachari cultural troupe, Lotha cultural troupe, Yimkhiung cultural troupe, Zeliang cultural troupe, Sangtam cultural troupe, Rengma cultural troupe, Phom cultural troupe and Sumi cultural troupe.
In the afternoon session, Deshraju Radhakhrishnan, Chairman, Forum of Regulators for Eastern & Northern Eastern States graced the function as chief guest while Anil Arora, Regional Director, Ministry of Tourism, Guwahati was the honoured guest. MLA, Kevipodi Sophie and MLA Imtichoba graced the afternoon programme as the hosts. Following cultural troupes performed their indigenous folk songs and dances, Chang cultural troupe, Kuki cultural troupe, Angami cultural troupe, Tikhir cultural troupe, Ao cultural troupe, Khiamniungan cultural troupe, Garo cultural troupe, Konyak cultural troupe and Chakhesang cultural troupe.
