
Dimapur, June 27: The Chumoukedima Town Youth Organisation (CTYO) has warned that it will “deploy volunteers to conduct surprise checks regularly and strict action will be taken” against those caught indulging in anti-social activities.
In a press release issued on Sunday, the organisation stated that “activities like drinking in public places, drug peddling/abusers, thievery or any such activities that disrupts the peace and tranquillity of Ch?moukedima area”, while all punishable offences under the law, will not be tolerated.
It also appealed to the business community/shopkeepers to refrain from hoarding goods, especially essential commodities.
“Further, if anyone is found selling expired goods, strict action will be taken against them. CTYO requests to the denizens of Ch?moukedima to follow all the laid down protocols, the standard operating procedure (SOPs), by the Government of Nagaland on preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19,” it added.
