CSUTT organizes essay competition


Dimapur, March 4: The Chang Students’ Union, Tuensang Town (CSUTT) organised essay writing competition on the topic ‘Women in Science’ on February 28 at Chang Baptist Lashong Thangyen (CBLT) conference hall, Tuensang.
It marked the celebration of National Science Day in collaboration with District Education Office, Tuensang, sponsored by Government of Nagaland, Directorate of Science and Technology.
Highlighting the importance of National Science Day programme, Thungti, president, CSUTT stated that it was to foster the spirit of advancement, and the students should come up with innovative ideas to drive society forward.
Resource person, Dr Pritpal Kaur, SDPO Tuensang stated, “Science is one of the most important subjects, a student can learn because of its relevance to our lives and its capacity to apply these vital life skills to everyday activities.”
Sometnaro, headmistress, Trininty Academy, Tuensang, also spoke on the topic ‘Women in Science’.
Altogether 47 students took part in the essay writing competition from different schools (both private & Government schools).
Honglenchila Y of St John’s Higher Secondary School Tuensang got the first prize, Haanglenkhum of St John’s Higher Secondary School, Tuensang got the second prize and the third prize was won by Siponglemla of Wela Foundation School, Tuensang. (Page News Service)
