CSUD celebrates 29th Freshers’ Day-cum-social gathering


Dimapur, September 24: The Chakhesang Students Union Dimapur celebrated its 29th Freshers Day cum Social Gathering with a theme “Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow” at Western Chakhesang Hoho conference Hall, Chakhesang colony, Dimapur.
Speaking as a Guest Speaker Rozelle Mero, Managing Director, The People Channel asserted that education needs to be skill oriented learning, a mere degree would not decide the future, one has to get real field experience by exploring more, reflecting the theme she stressed that “a person is learning today through experience and that learning is leading the people tomorrow”.
“Be accountable of your mistakes, it’s okay to make mistakes, you are learning from it, but dont repeat the same mistake”, she said.
The Guest Speaker also encouraged the students to adopt the habit of learning how to work without depending on others and do things that you can do by yourselves.
She stressed that many young Nagas have the habit of depending on others the work that one can do by themselves.
Further she advised the students “to accept where you belong. You have a reason to be where you are today. Stop criticizing yourself of your backgrounds”.
Towards the end she advised the students to honor the hard work of the parents and learn how to appreciate their efforts.
Dietho Rhakho, President Western Chakhesang Hoho, in his exhortation encouraged the students to partake quality education by involving more in the social activities, He asserted that a student must be a useful citizen in the society. He encouraged the students to be more outspoken, adopt the culture of taking the opportunities, and try to work more with students from different community.
During the programme three outstanding achievers were honored: Vekuduto khusoh, a Gold Medalist in B. Sc Botany, Lhiwe-ii Khape, top 11 in HSLC result declared in the year 2018 and Nuvosalu Sapu, winner of Miss Fitness, Miss Dimapur 2018.
The programme was chaired by Sedelo T Vadeo and Sussie Tetseo as compere.
Velhouzo Swuro, Pastor, CBC Toulazouma grace the gathering with invocation.
