CSU condemns crimes against 2 minors

DIMAPUR, APRIL 18: The Chakhesang Students’ Union has condemned the heinous crime perpetrated against two minors allegedly by one Yankiuba Yimchunger of Chessore village, Tuensang.
According to a press release issued by CSU president, Avezo Kevin Kapu and assistant general secretary, Asalu Veswuh, the alleged accused lured and abducted the siblings ~ boy aged 8 and girl aged 12 around 5.30 p.m., on April 17 on the pretext of buying candies. Later around 10.30 p.m., the boy was left alone and the girl was taken away and eventually raped by the accused, the CSU stated.
The Union expressed shock at the “inhumane and barbaric act” meted out against minors instigating fear and psychosis in the civilized society, which it said is highly deplorable by all right-thinking citizens.
The Union appealed to the law enforcing agency to investigate into the matter and expedite the case proceedings and give befitting punishment to the accused without delay.
Stating that the perpetrator deserves non-negotiable punishment as per the law of the land, the Union expressed solidarity and sympathy to the victims and their family.
