Tuli, November 2: A one day training on protocol of custom hiring center for CSPs and VLO livelihoods sub-committee was conducted at Tuli Town Hall on October 28 which was attended by more than 50 participants. Resource persons for the programme were Takalemba Jamir DFS (NSRLM), Purlemla Jamir DFS (NSRLM), Sungtiwaza (AC) and Alemongla Pongen (AC).
The programme was conducted by DAY-NSRLM, DRDA Mokokchung as a part of the annual action plan for the financial year 2019-2020. The participants were educated on the rules and procedures over the functioning of the custom hiring center.
This is one of the first of its kind programme initiated under Tuli RD block. With this training, the mission aims to establish and avail 10 Custom Hiring Centre/ Community Managed Tool Banks. These CHCs will enable small and marginal famers to get access to farm equipment and services such as water pump, grinder, bush cutter, cold chain management, knapsack sprayer, hot press, etc at a nominal rate thus reducing the drudgery of woman farmer and overall reduction of farm operational cost.
These self-sustaining agricultural tool/ machineries/ implements are to be owned by the VLO and managed by the KrishiSakhi (CSP Agri).
