CSC undertakes verification of Peren-Dimapur boundary

Dimapur, January 18: The Cabinet Sub Committee (CSC) constituted by the Government of Nagaland to finalize demarcation of the boundary between Dimapur and Peren districts Saturday visited Jalukie town for physical verification of the Peren-Dimapur boundary.
The committee consists of Pangnyu Phom, Neiba Kronu, Paiwang Konyak and Metsubo Jamir.
During interaction with civil societies and district officials, Zeliangrong Baudi president, CR Zeliang and Zeme Council president, Dr Tumda appealed to the committee to resolve the long pending Peren-Dimapur boundary issue based on historical facts and realities for peaceful coexistence.
In response to the appeal, CSC convener, S Pangnyu Phom assured that the Government will take up concrete measures and decide what is best for both the parties and sought cooperation from both parties. He urged them to maintain status quo before final settlement is arrived.
Later the Cabinet Sub-Committee along with civil societies and district officials visited Mhaikam village to ascertain the actual area of land holding system of Lamhai Village Councils.
