CS chairs AHoDs, HoDs meeting

Dimapur, September 13: A meeting of all the Administrative Heads of Departments (AHoDs) and Heads of Departments (HoDs) was held on September 12 in the Secretariat conference hall, Kohima. The meeting was held for the first time under the chairmanship of the State Chief Secretary, R. Binchilo Thong, IAS.
Commissioner and Secretary of Nagaland Legislative Assembly sensitized the AHoDs and HoDs on matters pertaining to assembly questions specially those who have taken over their office assignments recently. He explained about the rules of procedure and conduct of business in the assembly and also about starred and unstarred questions and explained about the format of questions and answers to be put forward.
He also explained that AHoDs and HoDs should get prepared with at least 2-3 supplementary notes. He added that the Minister or Advisor should be briefed with the likely or anticipated supplementary questions.
The meeting approved the purchase of a TB detector machine from the Chief Secretary’s Welfare Fund for testing of patients for Tuberculosis (TB) to be installed at Tobu. The Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare expressed that with the procurement of CB-NAAT for the said area it would bring great relief to patients who have to travel to either Kohima or Mokokchung to ascertain their infection status. He further elaborated that nine districts have such machine in the state excluding Longleng and Peren. He described that the machine is highly sensitive, very specific and very accurate and can also be used to test drug resistance.
The Chief Secretary also raised the issue of all centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) that has been changed to Hindi and therefore raised difficulty to determine the relevancy to which department or to which targeted groups the scheme is meant. To resolve the issued the Chief Secretary directed all departments to give the literal translation of the Hindi nomenclature to English, the objective of the scheme and targeted groups or beneficiaries.
