CRC NNC statement “too narrow & bereft of facts”: WC NNPGs

Dimapur, February 17: The Working Committee of NNPGs has termed the statement of Chakhesang Region Council of NNC as “too narrow and bereft of facts, arguably an opinion of some misguided elements calling themselves as NNC, CRC.”
“As per their statement these people have decided who can be a Chakhesang and who cannot. It is an insult to the great Chakhesang pride in the context of the Naga National movement,” the WC stated in a press release issued by its media cell.
Stating that the WC of NNPGs transcends region, tribe or community because it owes its existence to all Naga tribes, the Working Committee said from the very beginning of the political negotiations with the Government of India, it has clearly laid out the agreed principles signed on November 17, 2017, on which the talks would be based, adding, in it the essence and spirit of Naga plebiscite of May 16, 1951 is clearly retained and entrenched.
It further said the negotiations between GOI and NNPGs is between two entities i.e, Nagas and Indians and it has the solidarity and prayer support of all Nagas.
Stating that 7 NNPGs are involved in the talks on behalf of Nagas, it said Chakhesang leaders are among the most vocal in the negotiating table. Statements that do not conform to reality should be avoided at this juncture.
“WC, NNPGs do not feel it right that few members from Chakhesang community calling themselves NNC, CRC, would seek to malign and demean the great contribution of the Chakhesangs in the Naga political struggle. None should attempt to belittle the enormous responsibility admirably being discharged by esteemed Chakhesang leaders in the ongoing political dialogue between NNPGs and GOI,” the media cell stated.
