
Dimapur, June 9: The Chakhroma Public Organisation in collaboration with Chakhroma Youth Organisation and Chakhroma Women Organisation paid a courtesy visit to the displaced Kukis/Tribals of Manipur taking shelter at Medziphema, Sirhima, Maova, Molvom, Bungsang and Khaibung and also distributed some relief materials for the same.
As per the census collected during the visit the numbers have been changing daily as with the incomings and outgoings.
According to a press release issued by CPO, the number of people taking shelter at Medziphema is 306; Sirhima – 126; Maova – 69; Molvom – 103; Bungsang – 39; and Khaibung – 61, total being 704.
The Chakhroma Public Organisation with a serious concern on the ill-fated tribals taking shelter in its jurisdiction initiated the move with a positive motive for the welfare of those people.
While condemning the violent situation in Manipur, a statement given by Zhato Kimho, President CPO and Seyieneilhou Keyho, President CYO, called for the concern communities or individuals residing in the Chakhroma Jurisdiction to maintain peace and harmony and not to be carried away by the ongoing situation in Manipur.
They also informed any displaced person taking shelter in and around Chiimoukedima Town and Dimapur Town to approach the CPO or any of its frontal organisation for any kind of needs or grievances at the given contact nos: President,CPO -7005922992, Gen.
