CPO mourn Gokhale’s demise

Kohima, April 22 : The Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) mourned the sudden demise of A.M. Gokhale, IAS (Rtd) former chief secretary of Nagaland on April 18 at Pune.
It was in the later part of 1976, Gokhale was posted as Deputy Commissioner, Phek. It was during this period; he toured the length and breadth of the district and closely worked amongst the village people, CPO stated in a condolence message received here today.
“It is here he conceptualized a model for village development which is popularly known as Village Development Board (VDB) today. He was a committed administrator with great heart and vision for the people of Nagaland,” CPO president Mikha Kenye and general secretary Veduvo Rhakho stated in a condolence message.
In his death, the people of Nagaland have lost a true friend of the Nagas, it stated and prayed “May his soul rest in peace”. (Page News Service)
