DIMAPUR, JANUARY 19: COVID-19 vaccination drive for frontline workers in Bhandari and Pughoboto sub-divisions were launched on Tuesday.
Receiving the first and the second jabs of the vaccine, medical officers, Dr Yanpothung Kithan and Dr Chumdemo Ngullie led the vaccination drive at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Bhandari.
Sixty-seven frontline workers were inoculated in the first phase and made to rest in the observation room for half an hour under close monitoring for Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI).
Supervising the vaccine drive, Dr Lipokrenla MO, Ayush, urged the vaccinated frontline workers to continue to adhere to COVID-19 SOPs.
At Pughoboto, SMO of CHC, Dr J Hokugha Sema received the first dose of vaccine in the first phase drive launched in presence of ADC Pughoboto Thungchanbemo Tungoe at the CHC Pughoboto.
Dr Visavotuo Sachu, nursers and health workers in the division were also inoculated. On the first day around 75 people registered to be vaccinated.
Also, 41 healthcare workers received COVID-19 vaccine at Tening on January 18. There were no reports of serious adverse effects.
On January 19, the vaccine was administered to healthcare workers under Azailong and Mbaulwa Primary Health Centres. (Page News Service)
