Nagaland News

Dimapur, April 16: All schools, both Government and private, in Mokokchung municipal area and in the villages of Ungma, Chuchuyimpang, Khensa and Mokokchung, have been directed to suspend offline classes from April 17 to May 2 in view of the detection and confirmation of COVID-19 positive cases in some schools.

However, the ongoing HSLC/HSSLC examination will continue in all the examination centers under strict observation of all laid down SOPs and COVID-19 protocols.
This was decided in a meeting of the District Task Force on COVID-19 held today. The schools have been asked to continue with online classes.
The schools were closed in order to contain the spread of the disease and for necessary contact tracing, said DC Mokokchung, Limawabang Jamir in an order.
The order also directed private tuitions/home tuitions/ coaching centers to suspend offline classes during the same period.
The DC also advised all parents of school students to take utmost precautionary measures and discourage their children from unnecessary loitering/movement outside their homes during this period.
The order warned that failure to comply with the guidelines shall attract penalization under relevant section of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and the Disaster Management Act, 2005. (Page News Service)
