DIMAPUR, MAY 19: As COVID-19 cases continue to rise alarmingly in the State, the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) has urged the State Government to be ready for the worst, including in rural areas.
“The third wave that is under current discussion cannot be ruled out and we need to be prepared as it is feared to attack infants and children. If this situation arises, doctors and nurses alone will have a difficult time to nurse without parents. The Government should not be caught unaware,” said NPCC president K Therie in a press release, while calling upon all to stay safe and follow all safety protocols.
Meanwhile the NPCC informed that in compliance to AICC COVID Task Force and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the martyrdom of late Rajiv Gandhi, the State Congress party through NPYC and NSUI will be distributing free N-95 masks on May 21.
“As opposition party we may not able to help much but we believe in the safety practices being first and foremost in controlling the pandemic. We believe proper use of masks can help,” the party said.
