COVID-19: NBCC rallies for divine intervention

Nagaland News

Dimapur, April 26: As COVID-19 cases in the State increase at an alarming rate, the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has appealed to all “the Baptist individuals and churches across Nagaland, and others as well,” to pray together on May 1 (Saturday) from 5 am to 7 am.

“India is looking at a grim forecast so also our region. The situation calls for the believers to stand up to the occasion and pray,” it maintained in a press statement issued on Monday.
Some can come to mission centres, and those residing near the church can come to the church maintaining strict SOPs for corporate prayers, but the rest can all pray at home as a family, or individually, the NBCC stated.
“Even if you are in an inevitable situation or travelling on the road, please take a moment to pray with others,” it added.
The NBCC went on to state that India needs to break the chain of Covid-19 infection immediately.
“The healthcare system is over saturated and crumbling. Needless to say more on the horrific situation we are in. The virus is mutating and with new strains, we are all at risk, the young and the elderly. Closer to home, Kohima and Dimapur are seeing an alarming number of cases every day. If we go at this rate, we will soon find ourselves in a most critical situation. Our facilities are not adequate to deal with emergency situation,” it stated. (Page News Service)
