COVID-19 Nagaland: Tally jumps to 11,917


Kohima, December 29: Nagaland on Tuesday reported equal number of fresh COVID-19 infection and recoveries with the confirmed cases standing at 11,917, said a health official.

“6 +ve cases of #COVID-19 have been detected today. Dimapur- 5, Kohima- 1. Also 6 +ve patients have recovered in Dimapur,” said Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.
The caseload includes 11,464 recovered persons and 243 active patients, he said.
Nagaland’s recovery rate remained unchanged at 96.19% for the second consecutive day and it is the highest rate till date, he said.
The death toll in the State is 79, out of which 10 had comorbid conditions, he said.
A total of 131 patients have migrated to other states, he said.
The district wise distribution of confirmed cases is Dimapur (6,394), Kohima (3,710), Mon (603), Peren (502), Tuensang (244), Mokokchung (177), Zunheboto (142), Phek (47), Kiphire (41), Wokha (39) and Longleng (18).
Out of the confirmed cases, 4,862 are Traced Contacts, 4,653 are armed forces personnel, 1,836 returnees from other States and 566 frontline workers, he said.
The district wise active cases are Dimapur (96), Kohima (82), Mokokchung (45), Peren (8), Kiphire (6), Mon (3), and Phek (3).
Among the active cases, 19 patients are with mild and moderate symptoms, one is severe on oxygen and four are on ventilator, he said.
Altogether 219 persons are asymptomatic, he said.
The recovered persons are Dimapur (6,175), Kohima (3,579), Mon (589), Peren (493), Tuensang (243), Zunheboto (139), Mokokchung (124), Phek (44), Wokha (35), Kiphire (34) and Longleng (9).
So far, a total of 1,19,959 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland, including 72,362 through RT-PCR, 36,702 on TrueNat and 10,895 on Rapid Antigen Test, said Dr Hangsing. (Page News Service)
