COVID-19 Nagaland: Spike in cases as testing increases

Covid

Active cases jump to 95 with detection of 10 fresh cases in Kohima
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 7: Ten new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, all of them detected in Kohima, pushed the caseload in Nagaland to 12,158.
In the past two days, the State has recorded 32 fresh cases, a rise in the number of detections which has coincided with an increase in the number of samples being tested in a day.
On Sunday, 410 samples were tested while it was 520 on Saturday.
Prior to that, the State was registering single-digit cases for some consecutive days, which can be attributed to smaller size of daily samples.
The number of active cases jumped to 95, which was hovering in the mid 50s only a few days ago.
Also, all the 10 new cases on Sunday were traced contacts.
The State did not register any recoveries from the infection on Sunday and the number of fatalities remained at 88, out of which 10 have been declared ‘not COVID-related’. (Page News Service)
