COVID-19: Nagaland records 2 new cases, 40 recoveries


DIMAPUR, JANUARY 27: Out of 140 samples tested on Wednesday, two returned positive for COVID-19, pushing Nagaland’s caseload to 12083.

Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom informed that the new cases were one each from Dimapur and Kohima.
He also informed that the State recorded 40 recoveries from the infection on Wednesday, taking the total to 11796 so far.
According to the Health department’s daily COVID-19 bulletin, the number of fatalities remained at 88, out of which 10 has been declared ‘not COVID-related’.
The number of active cases reduced to 57 (from previous day’s figure of 95), out of which 44 were asymptomatic, 10 mild, 2 severe on oxygen and 1 moderate on oxygen.
As per the segregation of cases, 4985 (41%) were traced contacts, 4668 (39%) armed forces/security personnel, 1857 (15%) returnees/travellers, and 573 (5%) frontline workers.
