Kohima, March 19: Nagaland’s COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to an all time high of 97.98% out of the total confirmed case in the State standing at 12,225, a health official said.
“No +ve case of COVID-19 reported today. 5 +ve patients of COVID-19 have recovered in Kohima,” said Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.
This is the sixth consecutive that the State did not have any new positive case while recovery of five patients improved the recovered persons to 11,978, he said.
It has also brought down the active patients to only two, he said.
The recovery rate is 97.98% as against the highest rate of 97.94% on February 24 and 28, said Director of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 update.
Of the active cases, one in Kohima is without any symptom while the other in Mokokchung is with mild symptom, he said.
Vaccination: Nagaland has administered COVID-19 vaccination (Covishield) to more than 51,000 persons across the State as on Friday, a health official said.
The State has administered a total of 67,205 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 51,387 persons, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State 32,744 are frontline workers, 11,527 are healthcare professionals, 5,885 senior citizens and 1,231 people above 45 years with specified comorbidities, he said.
A total of 7,083 healthcare workers and 8,735 frontline workers have received the second shots of COVID-19 vaccine completing the full course of vaccination, he said.
Among those inoculated, no one has had any adverse effect needing medical interventions in the state till date, Dr Thurr said.(Page News Service)
