KOHIMA, JUNE 9: Nagaland today recorded an all-time highest recovery of 965 COVID-19 patients increasing the number of recovered persons to 18,261 out of the 23,237 confirmed cases in the State.
This is the 4th consecutive day that the State has recorded more recoveries than detection of fresh infections.
The previous highest single day recovery of COVID-19 patients was 225 on May 21.
The number of positive cases reported today was 186.
Cases spike in Mokokchung
While the State recorded the single day highest recovery rate today, a major worry is the spike in number of cases in Mokokchung for some days now. Today the number of cases reported from Mokokchung was the highest at 92. Kohima reported 34 cases, Dimapur – 28, Zunheboto – 11, Mon – 6, Phek – 5, Wokha & Longleng – 3 each, Tuensang – 2 and Peren & Kiphire – 1 each.
State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project Dr Nyanthung Kikon informed in the daily COVID-19 bulletin that 965 positive patients – 858 Kohima, 74 Dimapur, 11 each at Mon & Phek, 6 Zunheboto, 3 Peren, 1 each at Wokha & Tuensang recovered during the day taking the number of recovery rate from Tuesday’s 75.03% to 78.59%,.
The huge recovery of COVID-19 patients has brought down the active patients to 2,893 from Monday’s 3893, he said.
Of the active patients, 181 are with mild symptoms, 64 are moderate on oxygen, 35 severe on oxygen, 14 critical in ICU without ventilator and 13 on ventilator, while 3,586 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of 3 positive patients – 1 each at Kohima, Mokokchung and Phek districts – has increased the death toll in the State to 435, of which 14 are related to other diseases, he said.
As on Tuesday, Nagaland has administered a total of 3,07,730 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 2,53,389 persons, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
