COVID-19 Nagaland: Fifth consecutive day without any case

Kohima, March 17: Nagaland did not report any new COVID-19 case keeping the tally at 12,225 for the fifth consecutive day, a health official said.
“No +ve case and no recoveries of COVID-19 reported today,” said Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.


The caseload includes 11,973 recovered persons and 7 active patients, he said.
The recovery rate is 97.93%, said Director of Health & Family Welfare, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 update.
Altogether 91 persons including 10 with comorbidities have succumbed to the infection and 154 have migrated to other states, he said.
Of the active cases, 6 in Kohima district are asymptomatic while one in Mokokchung is with mild symptoms, he said.
Vaccination: Nagaland has administered a total of 65,767 doses of COVID-19 vaccines to 50,601 persons, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State 32,274 are frontline workers, 11,481 are healthcare professionals, 5,670 senior citizens and 1,176 people above 45 years with specified comorbidities, he said.
A total of 7,000 healthcare workers and 8,166 frontline workers have received the second shots of COVID-19 vaccine completing the full course of vaccination, he said.
Among those inoculated, no one has had any adverse effect needing medical interventions in the state till date, Dr Thurr said. (Page News Service)
