COVID-19 Nagaland: 98 infections, 46 recoveries, 1 death

KOHIMA, JANUARY 21: Nagaland on Friday reported 98 fresh infections, 46 recoveries and 1 death as the tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases surged to 33,357.
The fresh infections include Dimapur: 76, Kohima: 12, Peren: 6 and Mokokchung and Wokha: 2 each.
The recovered persons tally is 30,739 with recovery rate at 92.15%. The recovered persons for the day are: Dimapur: 44 and Kohima: 2.
There are 602 active patients in the State, of who 65 have mild and moderate symptoms and 2 are severe while 535 patients are asymptomatic.
Demise of a patient in Dimapur district increased the death toll in the State to 705, of which 16 had co-morbid conditions.
Altogether 1,311 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States.
Thus far, a total of 4,36,962 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 1,13,989 on RT-PCR, 92,724 on TrueNat and 2,30,249 on Rapid Antigen Test.
Meanwhile, the Health Department official informed that 34,069 teenagers in the 15 to 18 age bracket were administered with COVID-19 vaccine till January 18.
Further, a total of 13,90,384 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 787,946 persons during the same period, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 61,017 are frontline workers, 16,006 are healthcare workers, 217,011 are people above 45 years and 493,912 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.
A total of 6,02,438 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 48,770 frontline workers, 13,566 healthcare workers, 182,801 people above 45 years and 357,301 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
Further, 7,820 people, including 1,542 health care workers, 5,510 frontline workers and 768 above 60 years of age with co-morbidities, have also been administered with the precautionary dose, he said.
