COVID-19 Nagaland: 86 fresh infections

KOHIMA, JANUARY 13: Nagaland on Thursday reported 86 fresh infections of COVID-19, second highest this year, and recovery of 17 patients’ increasing the tally of confirmed cases to 32,530.
The fresh infections include Dimapur: 77, Kohima: 6 and Peren: 3 while all recoveries were in Dimapur district.
The recovered persons tally is 30,456 with recovery rate at 93.34%.
The number of active patients has increased to 287 in the State, of who 21 have mild and moderate symptoms and 1 is severe while 265 patients are asymptomatic.
The death toll in the State is 703, of who 16 had co-morbid conditions.
Altogether 1,170 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States.
Thus far, a total of 4,30,826 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland. It includes 1,13,198 on RT-PCR, 91,859 on TrueNat and 2,25,769 on the Rapid Antigen Test.
Meanwhile, the Health Department official informed that 8,413 teenagers in the 15 to 18 age bracket were administered with COVID-19 vaccine.
Further, a total of 13,55,991 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 768,216 persons as of Wednesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,995 are frontline workers, 16,005 are healthcare workers, 215,011 are people above 45 years and 476,205 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.
A total of 587,775 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 48,662 frontline workers, 13,551 healthcare workers, 180,737 people above 45 years and 344,825 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
Further, 1,809 people have also been administered with the precautionary dose, he said.
