COVID-19 Nagaland: 61 fresh infections take tally to 11,479

KOHIMA, DECEMBER 8: Detection of 61 fresh COVID-19 infections has pushed the confirmed cases to 11,479, a health official said.


“61+ve cases of # COVID-19 have been detected today. Kohima – 35, Dimapur – 22, Wokha and Zunheboto – 2 each. Also, 8+ve patients have recovered. Kohima – 5, Peren – 3,” said Health Minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.
Nagaland is witnessing a down trend in the recovery rate as it stood at 91.91% from Monday’s 93.34%, said Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
The caseload in Nagaland includes 10,666 recovered persons and 628 active patients, he said.
Demise of a COVID-19 infected patient in Kohima has pushed the death toll in Nagaland to 70, of which 60 are due to contagion, 7 had co-morbidities and deaths of 3 patients are under investigation, he said.
Altogether 115 patients have migrated to other states, he said.
The district wise distribution of confirmed cases are Dimapur (6,273), Kohima (3,498), Mon (600), Peren (480), Tuensang (237), Zunheboto (142), Mokokchung (123), Phek (44), Wokha (35), Kiphire (29) and Longleng (18).
Out of the confirmed cases, the segregated data comprises 4,608 armed forces personnel, 4,522 Traced Contacts, 1,796 returnees from other States and 553 frontline workers, he said.
The district wise active cases are Kohima (357), Dimapur (175), Tuensang (41), Mon (24), Peren (17), Wokha (6), Kiphire (4), Mokokchung (2) and Zunheboto (2).
Among the active, 47 patients are with mild and moderate symptoms and 5 are critical in ICU, he said. Altogether 576 persons are asymptomatic, he said.
The recovered persons are Dimapur (5,983), Kohima (3,102), Mon (565), Peren (463), Tuensang (195), Zunheboto (137), Mokokchung (116), Phek (44), Wokha (28), Kiphire (24) and Longleng (9).
So far, a total of 1,15,224 suspected COVID-19 samples has been tested in Nagaland, including 70,286 through RT-PCR, 36,194 on TrueNat and 8,744 on Rapid Antigen Test, said Dr Hangsing.
