COVID-19 Nagaland: 6 new cases detected

KOHIMA, FEBRUARY 25: After three consecutive days without any COVID-19 positive case, Nagaland on Thursday reported detection of six fresh cases pushing the tally to 12,198, a health official said.


“6 positive cases of COVID-19 reported today. 5 in Kohima and 1 in Dimapur. Also, 1 positive patient of COVID-19 recovered in Dimapur,” said Minister for Health, S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet.
Out of the caseload, 11,942 patients have recuperated while 13 are active, he said.
The recovery rate in the State has come down to 97.9% against Wednesday’s 97.94%, said Director of Health and Family Welfare, Dr Denis Hangsing in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
28,650 persons receive vaccine
Nagaland has administered 34,075 doses of Covishield vaccine to 28,650 persons, including 18,548 frontline workers and 10,102 healthcare professionals.
Among the healthcare professionals, 5,425 have received the second shots completing the full course of vaccination, said State Immunization Officer, Dr Ritu Thurr.
No adverse events needing medical intervention have been reported after the beneficiaries received the vaccine, he said.
Dr Thurr also informed that last date of first dose vaccination of frontline workers is March 1, 2020 followed by mob sessions till March 6, 2020.
