COVID-19 Nagaland: 50 fresh infections, 2 deaths

KOHIMA, SEPTEMBER 8: Nagaland detected 50 fresh COVID-19 infections taking the tally to 30,485 while the death of 2 patients pushed the death toll to 634 today.

“50 positive cases detected today are ~ Dimapur: 30, Kohima: 6, Mokokchung & Phek: 4 each, Tuensang & Wokha: 2 each, and Kiphire & Zunhbeoto: 1”, said State Nodal Officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project, Dr Nyanthung Kikon in the daily COVID-19 bulletin.
“48 positive patients – Dimapur: 22, Kohima: 9, Mon: 6, Mokokchung: 5, Phek & Tuensang: 3 each recovered during the last 24 hours”, he said.
With this the recovered persons tally has increased to 28,226 while recovery rate is at 92.58%.
There are 707 active patients of whom 97 have mild symptoms, 15 are moderate on oxygen, 21 severe on oxygen, 10 critical in ICU without a ventilator, and 8 on ventilator, while 556 patients are asymptomatic, he said.
Demise of 2 patients ~ 1 each in Dimapur and Kohima districts ~ has put the death toll 634, of which 14 had co-morbid conditions, he said.
Altogether 918 COVID-19 patients have migrated to other States, he said.
A total of 337,963 suspected COVID-19 samples have been tested in Nagaland thus far. It includes 106,739 on RT-PCR, 78,423 on TrueNat, and 152,801 on Rapid Antigen Test, Dr Kikon said.

A total of 896,374 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to 664,717 persons in Nagaland as on Tuesday, said State Immunization Officer Dr Ritu Thurr.
Out of the total doses administered in the State, 60,859 are frontline workers, 15,993 are healthcare professionals, 194,158 are people above 45 years and 393,707 in the 18 to 44 years age group, he said.
A total of 231,657 beneficiaries have received the second dose of the vaccine completing the full course of vaccination. They comprise 44,949 frontline workers, 13,001 healthcare workers, 118,069 people above 45 years and 55,638 in the 18 to 44 years age group, said Dr Thurr.
